How Michael Curtis Development handles personal information submitted through this website.

Effective 17 July 2026

About this policy

This policy explains how Michael Curtis Development ("we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information through https://michaelcurtis.dev and in the course of responding to enquiries.

Information we collect

When you send an enquiry through the website, we collect the information you provide. This can include your name, business name, email address, phone number, website address, project needs, budget range, preferred contact method and message.

The website also processes limited technical information needed to operate securely. This includes your IP address for short-term rate limiting, basic request information and any technical logs created by the hosting provider. We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party analytics.

You do not have to provide personal information, but we may be unable to respond to your enquiry or discuss your project without the relevant contact and project details.

How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • respond to enquiries and communicate with you;
  • understand, quote and deliver requested services;
  • manage client relationships and business records;
  • operate, secure and improve the website; and
  • meet legal, regulatory and accounting obligations.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use enquiry details for unrelated marketing without permission.

How information is disclosed and stored

Enquiries are processed by the website hosting infrastructure and delivered to a private Discord channel that is accessible only to authorised people. Discord is operated from the United States and may process or store information in the United States and other countries. You can read Discord's privacy policy for more information.

We may also disclose information to professional advisers or service providers where reasonably necessary to operate the business, or where disclosure is required or authorised by law. We do not otherwise disclose personal information to third parties without consent.

Retention and security

We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including business, legal and record-keeping requirements. When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access or disclosure. No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Cookies and local storage

This website does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. If you choose a light or dark theme, that preference is saved in your browser's local storage so the website can remember it. This preference is not sent with an enquiry.

Access, correction and complaints

You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you, or raise a concern about how it has been handled, by emailing [email protected]. Please include enough detail for us to understand and respond to your request. We may need to verify your identity before providing access or making a correction.

We will review privacy concerns and respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) applies, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our information-handling practices or service providers change. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
